33rd Annual Head of the Occoquan

On Saturday, November 4, 2017, the Georgetown Women’s Rowing team and many other schools and clubs, raced at the 33rd Annual Head of The Occoquan (HOTO) just outside Washington, DC, sponsored by the Occoquan Boat Club.

This annual event is held at Sandy Run Regional Park in Fairfax Station, VA.

The event covers two days of racing and is the sixth largest Regatta in the United States.  Here’s the two-day schedule:

  • On Saturday, November 4, HOTO will consist of Collegiate 8’s and 4’s and all Singles and Masters Sculling (except mixed).
  • On Sunday, November 5, HOTO events will be Club, Junior, Masters Sweep and Mixed Sculling.

For a complete list of boats racing on Saturday go HERE.  It was great to see so many colleges and universities participate in this annual event.  There were shells and people everywhere!

Taylor's bow number was 139 and she was in the middle position (see pictures - white shirt, hat and ponytail).  They finished the race in a time of 19:33.08.
